Our Curriculum

We have worked very closely with the Children’s Ministry of Broomfield UMC to produce a Christian curriculum we feel is fun and enlightening for the children. We have developed three curriculums that we will rotate from year to year including “Superheroes of the Bible”, “Kings and Queens of the Bible”, and “Fruits of the Spirit”. Throughout the year, the children will be learning from one these different curriculums, with the focus each month to present a story from the Bible through stories, songs, games, and activities. Each month’s story will begin with an interactive and exciting monthly chapel. All of our Christian curriculum is designed to align with our Social Emotional emphasis on learning.

Literacy and Phonics Curriculum

We use Phonemic Awareness from Heggerty as part of the literacy and phonics curriculum. Through games and other phonics materials, this program makes the connection between reading, spelling, literature, and student writing. The Heggerty Phonemic Awareness lessons lay the foundation for literacy growth.

Social Emotional Learning

We use Sanford Harmony Social/Emotional curriculum in the Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms and we use Second Step curriculum in the toddler and three year old classrooms for social emotional learning. Both of these curriculum help our teachers to empower the students to communicate, cooperate, connect, embrace diversity and resolve conflict.
