Opening Liturgy (11:15am)
All: God has opened a door before us, and we enter with hope and curiosity.
One: We come with stories of joy and sorrow, certainty and questions, faith and doubt.
All: All are welcome here, for God’s love is wider than our fears.
One: All are welcome here, as join with God in opening new doors among us.
All: All are welcome here, as we open ourselves to God already at work in our hearts and in our community. Thanks be to God.
Unison Prayer (11:15am)
God of surprising grace,
You are always opening doors we did not know existed, calling us beyond our assumptions,
our fears, and our certainties. Like Peter, we confess that we sometimes limit where we expect to find You and whom we expect You to love. Open our hearts to Your Spirit. Give us the courage to cross thresholds, to listen with humility, to welcome with generosity, and to discover Your presence in people and places that surprise us. Expand our vision until it reflects the wideness of Your love. Lead us beyond comfort into compassion, beyond judgment into understanding, and beyond fear into beloved community. Amen.
