Family Ministries Program Coordinator


Broomfield United Methodist Church (BUMC) has an opening for a qualified part-time (20 hours per week) Family Ministries Program Coordinator, who will assist with programming and discipleship under the Family Ministry umbrella – ministering to children through 5th grade and their families. This position also teams with the Director of Family Ministries and Early Childhood Assistant to provide excellent hospitality to all children and families on Sunday mornings and at ministry events. 


Responsibilities Include:

Ministry - Work within strengths alongside Director of Family Ministries in creating, planning, overseeing and executing all children’s programming, including special, weekly and monthly events. Also share in development, selection, and planning of curriculum for all children through 5th grade.

Staff and Volunteers - Work in partnership with Director of Family Ministries to recruit, train and oversee volunteers for all programs.

Program Support – Provide creative and artistic assistance for programming. Assist with preparations needed for all age children, including shopping for supplies as needed and prepping weekly lessons for volunteers.



Detailed knowledge of church processes and procedures and the various religious observations of the Methodist faith. A welcoming spirit and desire to invest in children and their faith journey through bible lessons and activities. Proven experience as a volunteer supervisor and ability to work as a team leader and team member. Warm and engaging personality when interfacing with parents, children, childcare staff and small group leaders. Preferred valid CPR, First Aid and Medicine Administration certifications. Availability to work Sundays, Easter and Christmas Eve.

Organist/Collaborative Pianist

Broomfield United Methodist Church is looking for an Organist/Collaborative Pianist. This position is a part-time (10-12 hrs.) salaried position that will collaborate with the Associate Director of Worship Arts and the ministry team to craft meaningful worship experience and high-quality worship music. Primary duties include both organ and piano to lead service music and congregational singing.


Job Description:

  • Position requires 10-12 hours per week, including services, rehearsals, practice and preparation (four Sundays off per year)
  • Organ/piano duties for two Sunday services (8:00 & 11:05am) year round
  • Collaborative Pianist for choir(s) including Wednesday rehearsals (6:30-9:30pm) and Sunday morning warm-ups and services late-August through early-June including holiday services in which the choir(s) participate
  • Organ/piano duties for all additional holiday/Feast Day services including Christmas Eve, Holy Week, and an annual Christmas Cantata (early December)
  • Collaborative Pianist duties also include coordinating and leading rehearsal times (Wednesday evenings & Sunday mornings between services) with solo/chamber groups that participate in the traditional worship services
  • Weekly coordination/communication with the Associate Director of Worship Arts
  • Opportunities for organ/piano duties at weddings and funerals for additional remuneration above and beyond position's annual salary

Early Childhood Teacher - Apple Tree Christian Preschool & Kindergarten

Description and Skills:
The lead teacher for a 2 ½ and 3 year old preschool program will:

  • Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum which reflects observations and goals of individual children
  • Participate actively in the teaching team through communication, collaboration and curriculum planning
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings and 3 annual staff development workshops
  • Participate in various extra-curricular activities that pertain to the school and its community outreach
  • Be comfortable implementing a Christian element to the daily curriculum

Applicant Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will meet the requirements for Early Childhood Teacher, formerly G.L.Q.
  • Love working with children
  • Be flexible and have a positive attitude
  • Minimum of two years experience in Early Childhood teaching


 $14.00 - $15.00 per hour 


Part time approximately 22.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Choir Director and Musical Leader, Part Time

Sunrise Singers is a small vocal ensemble that supports an 8am traditionally-styled worship service through special music anthems and leadership for congregational singing. The ensemble is active late-August through early-June, meeting for weekly rehearsals and Sunday services. The repertoire is varied and ranges from traditional hymn arrangements to spirituals to classic praise choruses. A key to the ensemble’s success is accessible repertoire selected with amateur, aging voices in mind. Sunrise Singers joins forces with the congregation’s other vocal ensembles several times a year including Christmas Eve, Easter, and an annual Christmas Cantata.
In addition to leading the vocal ensemble, this position is responsible for helping facilitate the overall musical worship content of the 8am service including scheduling and preparing musicians to provide special music in the choir’s absence as well as working with the Associate Director of Worship Arts in worship planning and design.

Primary Qualifications:

  • Desire to lead a vocal ensemble whose purpose extends beyond singing to meet the human and spiritual needs of its members
  • Flexible musical palette and ability to select repertoire that fits well with a small amateur vocal ensemble
  • Positive and relational leadership style that helps create a positive and uplifting experience for volunteer musicians
  • Basic understanding of the singing voice with special emphasis on the aging voice
  • Foundational skills as a vocal ensemble director: rehearsal planning and pacing, choral conducting, repertoire planning, etc.
  • Prefer at least 2 years of experience working with a vocal/choral ensemble in a sacred setting
